SOUTH MUSKOKA AND GEORGIAN BAY AREA - WHAT IT OFFERS
It is on the edge of Georgian Bay and the start of the Muskoka Region. It is a true Muskoka vacationland of numerous lakes, rivers, rocks and trees - part of the Canadian Shield.
It is the weekend & seasonal escape for many Torontonian's who maintain private family cottages for their enjoyment and is only 1.5 to 2 hours of easy driving via Highway 400 north from Toronto, passing the City of Barrie enroute.
The dominant lake in our area is Lake Gloucester Pool, which is part of the Trent-Severn Waterway (TSW); TSW enters Georgian Bay at Port Severn. Gloucester Pool is a ten mile long lake with many fingers and runs from the Big Chute Marine Railway to the Port Severn Lock. It has the true Georgian Bay and Muskoka terrain of rocks & wind swept trees. It is truly a beautiful and magnificent area.
All the cottages / vacation properties are waterfront (lakefront) cottages on Gloucester Pool, Little Lake, Severn River, Severn Falls, Georgian Bay, Big Chute and Six Mile Lake areas. We are close to the major Muskoka areas of Bala, Port Carling, Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, Huntsville and the prestigious Lake of Muskoka, Lake Joseph and Lake Rosseau.
Excellent Trent-Severn Waterway & Georgian Bay boating, fishing, swimming, sandy beaches, golf, horseback riding, Casino Rama, downhill skiing (Horseshoe Valley & Mt. St Louis ski resorts), cross-country skiing, snow-mobiling, ice-fishing, fall colours, sunsets, nature trails, eco–parks, sophisticated dining & entertainment & much much more.
Visit: Huntsville (Algonquin Park), Bracebridge (Santa’s Village), Gravenhurst (home of the Sequin), Bala (historic Kee to Bala), Port Carling (locks joining Lake Muskoka & Lake Joseph), Parry Sound (ten thousand islands), Midland / Penetang (St Marie among the Huron’s, Wye Marsh, Kings Theatre), Port Severn (Trent Severn Waterway Locks, Big Chute Marine Railway, Avalon Spa at the Inn at Christies Mill, Rawley Lodge), Orillia (Casino Rama & Concert Hall), Barrie (Lake Simcoe), etc etc etc.
Muskoka / Georgian Bay is a vast natural wonderland of shimmering lakes, thundering waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs, aromatic windswept pine forests, dense maple trees …. all wrapped in pure clean air and crystal clear lakes.
It is a truly wonderful area to escape to and to enjoy Canada’s heartland at its best.
